TYPE VC3
Service Capability
Pressure Rating: Varies up to 250bar
Temperature: -50+1260°C

Product Information
VG6 types cover a range of quality glass fibre products whilst Type VC3 is used to designate the same range of products manufactured from pure Ceramic fibres.

The base fibre is woven or braided into a wide variety of products. The following standard types are available:

Materials
The sole type of glass fibre utilised in our products is pure blown glass with a fibre diameter of 6-9 microns. This fibre is designed to avoid itching problems and sun irritability sometimes caused by other braided glass fibres.

Glass yarns are: inorganic and fire-proof, resistant to continuous heat to 600°C (elevated temperature grades can be available), melt at 1100°C, are unaffected by oils, solvents and most chemicals, do not rot, have good elasticity, compressibility and resistance to abrasion.

Ceramic fibres are made from Aluminium Silicate and are spun to form yarns with glass fibre reinforcement. A small quantity of glass fibres are added to all our ceramic fibre yarns to increase mechanical strength during processing. Ceramic lagging ropes and tapes are further reinforced with a mesh overlay of glass yarn or Inconel wire.

Ceramic yarns have; remarkable resistance to elevated temperatures to 1260°C continuous (higher temperature grades to 1400°C are available), melt at 1750°C , excellent chemical stability being resistant to most chemicals except the strongest acids and alkalis, do not rot, are fire-proof, compressible and abrasion resistant.

Applications
Thermal insulation, caulking and sealing applications such as groove and door seals on ovens, boilers, hatches etc. Main applications are for thermal insulation of pipe-work, furnaces, boilers, joints, ovens, autoclaves and electric wires.

TYPE VT8
Service Capability
Pressure Rating: 150bar Rotary Speed: 1m/s
Temperature: -100+260°C pH range: 0 - 14

Product Information
Type VT8 is supplied as a double construction of 100% unscintered PTFE core with a spiral covering of PTFE tape. VT8 provides the versatility of on extruded malleable core with the additional strength and extrusion resistance of the PTFE tope covering. The result is a low friction, extrusion resistant, TEFLON packing with near universal chemical resistance.

VT8 will not harden nor shrink in application and provides an instant packing and instant gasket on one very economical spool. In valves, wrap VT8 round the stem to fill the gland (no need for cut rings), tighten the gland follower and the PTFE moulds to form a tight leak free seal. VT8 is guaranteed to last the life of the valve to which it is fitted.

On flanges, a single strand of VT8, crossed-over at the ends, will bolt down to form a continuous gasket that will not weld itself to the flange surfaces.

Applications
Universal PTFE sealing material for gasketing and life long valve packing. For practically all chemicals. Not suitable for liquid or gaseous oxygen.
